How To Draw Four Leaf Clover
Four Leaf Clover Clasp
Don't you lot love it when a project turns out better than you ever expected?
I'm not talking about today'southward projection (all the same), but the lucky horseshoe link bracelet that I made last week.
It is my favorite bracelet right now. It'southward comfortable, pretty, the perfect size and most of all, it's slinky.
On the down side, it's a little apparently though. There are several options to spice it up, such as adding beads to make a amuse bracelet. I definitely plan to practise that in the futurity.
But for now, I decided to follow a similar path that I did with the infinity link bracelet. Add a pretty handmade squeeze that follows a theme - and provide stride past step instructions.
In this example, the theme is luck - and so I decided to brand a wire four leafage clover.
Four Leaf Clover Charm / Clasp Instructions
Supplies:
six-7 inches of 18g wire
Chain Nose Pliers
Steel Bench Block or Mini Anvil (optional)
Jeweler'due south Hammer (optional)
Measure about 2 inches from the end of the wire. The corporeality of wire y'all exit on this end becomes the stalk or a piece or wire to make a loop, so judge accordingly.
Note that the pliers in the picture to a higher place are the ones I used for most of the 4-leafage clovers y'all see in the pictures, merely I found information technology much easier to photograph using apartment nosed pliers. It makes it easier for you to meet the wire.
Make a right angle bend with the widest part of your chain nose pliers (down near the articulation). And so curve the other side of the wire over the chain nose pliers so you have an upside down U shape. This U is one leaf of the 4 leaf clover.
Movement your pliers downwards the wire and brand another right angle bend. Try to go along the angles crisp and the sizes even.
Brand one more bend and then the wire looks like a step.
Here is another view of the pace shape.
Squeeze, the concluding angle and so the wire is moving closer together. I hold the wire and button the other side upwards to meet.
And so I squeeze the ii wires together. This squished 5 will form the space between the leaves of the 4 leaf clover.
Continue to brand new correct angle steps and squeeze them into V shapes until yous have a shape that volition accept 4 leaves.
I know it doesn't look like much at this point, but here is where the magic happens. You are going to shape the leaves by squeezing the bottoms of the wire Vs towards each other.
Now they are starting to await a piffling more like leaves! But they are too squished together.
Pull the leaves apart by separating the Five spaces between the leaves gently pulling the shape into a full circle. Equally you brand the shape, go along both ends of the wire on the same side of the project.
Keep pulling apart the V spaces betwixt the leaves until you accept a shape that resembles a clover. You lot may need to re-shape the leaves at this indicate, by re-inserting your pliers and squaring them off again.
When yous are satisfied, mark the wires in the center of the clover. This is where you volition wrap one of the wires to secure the shape.
To wrap the wire, you will need to bend them away from the clover shape.
Curve one wire at a right angle where the sharpie marking is. Grasp the wires with your pliers to hold them in place.
With your fingers, wrap the wire in one case around.
Trim the wrapped wire, flatten the end and file.
The last step is to printing the wires back into place. It looks like a clover now - doesn't information technology?
Now, decide what you lot want to practice with your clover.
You tin can hammer the leaf ends to add strength, but as well because it looks pretty. The wire is already pretty work hardened from all the bending.
You tin can make a loop on the step to make a pendant, trim the stalk wire and make information technology into a connector, or make a hook to create a clasp. Y'all can too vary the size of the finished wire clover by using larger pliers, or adjusting the length of your steps.
The clasp is my personal favorite. I oasis't made some other horseshoe link bracelet for this squeeze yet. I am thinking of a slight variation on the concluding chain that will brand the clasp stand out a little more than. The clover, including the loop, is most i inch foursquare.
Are these instructions hard to follow? For me, it was very piece of cake to make, but I am amazed at how many pictures I had to take.
